About Event

San Francisco’s soon-to-be released Climate Action Plan (CAP) lays out an ambitious path forward, including an Innovation Chapter focused on how new technologies move into the built environment. This conversation looks at how that work is taking shape on the ground.

The panel brings together the San Francisco Environment Department alongside Urban EV and Voltpost, two Yes SF Innovators who are actively deploying curbside EV charging across the city. The focus is on what it takes to move projects through permitting and how coordination across departments shapes what gets built and how quickly.

Panelists Include: Stefan Johnson, SFE Clean Transportation Team; Alexander Grant, Urban EV, Luke Mairo, Voltpost; and Jenny Feinberg, Yes SF

Curbside charging is a useful entry point. It reflects growing demand for EV access beyond private garages and highlights the complexity of deploying infrastructure in public space. Recent legislative momentum has accelerated attention on this area, creating a timely moment to examine what progress looks like and where it slows.

Panelists will share perspectives from active projects, including what it takes to move from pilot to something that can scale and how charging demand is evolving. The conversation will also explore how coordination is developing under the Climate Action Plan and where additional clarity could help move projects forward.

This session is designed to offer a grounded view of climate deployment in San Francisco, with practical insight that can inform the next phase of implementation.
