About Event

Have you seen people rave about Claude Code, and wondered whether agent-assisted coding is for you?

We're people who both work in and around software teams, studying how developers learn. Recently Claude Code unlocked our own ability to build software. We'd love to have you in on the fun!

Join us for a cozy, friendly Claude Code-powered afternoon craft session in an outdoor cafe setting. Bring your laptop, ideas for something you want to build, an in-progress project, or even just your curiosity.

If you've never used Claude Code before, we'll do our best to help you get up and running.

Note: This event operates under Recurse Center's Social Rules.

Who We Are

Ana Hevesi is obsessed with how people teach each other to navigate new paradigms. She once overhauled Stack Overflow's game mechanics and ran GTM for the first Node.js hosting platform, and created the community-product feedback at hardware startup Shapeways. Today, when she's not working with dev tools team, you can find her fiddling with drum machines and making weird CLI apps.

Cat Hicks is a psychologist for software teams, a research architect, and an author. Cat is the founder and principal scientist at Catharsis Consulting, a scientific consultancy that helps engineering organizations transform with human-centered evidence strategies. She holds a PhD from UC San Diego, where she studied social cognition and how we form beliefs about performance and learning. In 2026 she's publishing a book called The Psychology of Software Teams.
