Join us for a two-day summit where we will be joined by Flint Dille, the legendary writer and game designer behind Transformers, G.I. Joe, Inhumanoids, and more. This immersive experience blends nostalgia, storytelling, and innovation in true build_ fashion.
Flint is one of the most prolific transmedia creators of the last four decades. His career spans television, film, boad and video games, and comics — shaping entire worlds that defined modern imagination.

Story editor and writer on G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and The Transformers (Gen 1)
Co-writer of Transformers: The Movie (1986), a cult classic that redefined animated storytelling
Collaborator with Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, on Sagard the Barbarian
Partner to Jack Kirby, the king of comics, developing animation projects at Ruby-Spears
Writer and narrative designer for The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

Now, he’s joining build_ to help unlock your creativity and inspire imagination in a new generation of builders.
The two day experience happens over three sessions:
Session 1: Retro Watch Party + Pitch Night
Friday, Jan 16 | 6–9 PM: Cartoons. Cigars. Wine. Watch Flint’s classic 1980s episodes, and swap creative ideas. At the beginning we will have local startups share their projects during a session called, Show & Tell. The top project, voted on by all of us, will win $1,000. Votes happen on buildcities.com
Session 2: Game Design + Story Workshop
Saturday, Jan 17 | 10 AM–12 PM: Learn storytelling and worldbuilding directly from a master who helped invent the art of transmedia creation.
Session 3: Fireside Chat + Celebration
Saturday, Jan 17 | 6:30–8:30 PM: An intimate evening of lessons and stories from Transformers to Pokémon GO. A conversation about living a creative and successful life, followed by drinks and celebration with local creators and dreamers.
