​This year's Singapore FinTech Festival looks at the forces rewiring global finance. Payments is where that rewiring is most visible: AI agents are starting to spend real money, more of it settles in stablecoins, and the rails are arriving faster than the controls.

​REWIRED brings together the people building and running payments to work out what comes next:

• ​Who authorises an agent to pay?

• ​What stops the payment when the agent is compromised?

• ​Where does the margin sit when software pays software?

• ​Run the incident. MAS's SAFR framework proposes that no agent action executes until it has been declared, authorised and assessed. Test that idea on a live case: an agent with payment authority has been manipulated and transfers are queued. Vote on what stops the money, then put the panel on the spot.

• ​Pick the rails. Card networks are piloting agent checkout across APAC, while Coinbase's x402 standard passed 100 million stablecoin transactions on Base within nine months, according to Chainalysis. Cards, stablecoins or both: argue who owns checkout when the buyer is software.

• ​Price the use case. McKinsey sees up to US$5 trillion in agent-led commerce by 2030, yet a16z put real agent payment volume at about US$1.6 million a month in early 2026. Decide which use cases close that gap, and what it takes to go from pilot to production.
