Women in Climate/Energy Meetup - OCTOBER 2025

​​This is a monthly virtual (via zoom) meetup for women who work in, or want to work in, climate and the energy transition.

​​We will use a Lean Coffee format, where we co-create the agenda real-time and get through the topics that are most interesting to the group. Each month we'll pick an industry learning theme and a jobs related theme to focus on.

​This month we'll feature the following topics and speakers, its gonna be a great zoom out from 2 industry veterans!!

Room 1:  Distributed Renewable Energy in Emerging Markets

​

​Guest: Emily McAteer is the Co-founder and CEO of Odyssey Energy Solutions (a platform accelerating distributed renewable energy deployment in emerging markets). Before Odyssey, she was the founding Chief Revenue Officer of Frontier Power, a SunEdison subsidiary, leading development of solar microgrids in India and Africa. Emily holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University.

​Room 2:   Energy Generation and Storage Technologies

​Guest: Banu Alkaya Aksoy has 20+ years of experience in energy @ oil & gas, utility, hydropower, geothermal, DAC. She is the former COO of Noon Energy (flow battery technology that enables economical long-duration energy storage) and Fervo Energy (geothermal power generation company). Banu is a Stanford Alum and president of the Stanford Professionals in Energy organization.
