Thriving Beyond Barriers: Inclusive Workplaces for All

Join Jen Smith, Noah Senecal-Junkeer, Paul Meyer, and Cat Contillo as they discuss how technology choices shape inclusion every day—yet accessibility is too often treated as an afterthought, if it’s considered at all. This engaging three-part session shows why accessibility must move to the center of digital decision-making.

Part 1

Kick off with a dynamic 30-minute presentation that introduces the essentials of digital accessibility and demonstrates how inclusive design leads to digital experiences that are usable, equitable, and innovative. Through relatable personas and real-world examples, you’ll see the everyday barriers people with disabilities encounter—and how human-centered design transforms those barriers into opportunities. You will be challenged to step into the shoes of diverse users, uncover hidden pain points, and explore practical roadmaps for building more inclusive digital journeys.

Part 2

Learn from a candid panel of experts sharing stories from the field. Panelists will highlight both successes and hard lessons learned, revealing how well-intentioned processes in HR, IT, and procurement often exclude people when accessibility isn’t baked in from the start. They’ll discuss the hidden costs of “quick fixes” and why off-the-shelf solutions rarely meet real-world needs. Most importantly, they’ll share concrete strategies to bridge organizational silos, respond to pushback, and make accessibility a shared responsibility across teams. Expect real talk, practical tools, and insider insights you can use immediately.

By the end, you’ll walk away with a sharper eye for evaluating internal systems, conversation starters to spark cross-functional change, and a set of proactive FAQs to anticipate objections. Whether you’re in HR, IT, legal, or leadership, this session will give you the confidence and clarity to build a truly accessible workplace—one that empowers people, not just checks boxes.
