Local Hub Berlin: Derailers in the Workplace: What L&D Can Do When Strengths Turn to The Dark Side
Everyone has encountered “toxic” behaviour at work. But where do these patterns come from, why do they emerge, and how do they undermine teams and organisational success?
In this session, we will demystify workplace dark-side behaviour through the lens of the Hogan Assessment Systems — the HDS framework of 11 common "derailers" that can surface when strengths are overused or when people are under stress. We’ll explore these derailers and, most importantly, what L&D professionals can realistically do about it.
You will walk away with:
A clear map of the 11 Hogan HDS derailers and how they typically show up in day-to-day workplace behaviour
Practical, L&D-relevant strategies to address dark-side patterns
