About Event

Zero to Agent is a global build week where we ship real AI agents with v0 and Vercel - April 24 – May 3. All submissions go into the global competition at Vercel Community with $6,000+ in prizes.

Your own AI tool. Built in one evening.

Every week the same routine: triaging alerts, copying data between systems, chasing approvals, assembling reports from three different sources. Tasks that have to be done — but don’t move anything forward.

This evening, you’ll build your own AI-powered tool that automates exactly these kinds of tasks. No programming knowledge or prior experience required. You describe what you need in plain language — the AI creates a fully functional web application.

In short: if you have a task you do the same way every week and it annoys you — this session is for you.

What happens

You build your own AI tool: a web application that takes over a specific task from your everyday life. This could be a document reviewer, an automated analysis tool, a customer response drafter, or an AI assistant that processes data for you.

We work with v0 and Vercel — two tools that let you create a real, usable application simply by describing what you want. The AI generates the code. You control the result.

The format

This is a 2.5-hour virtual session on Zoom — part of Zero to Agent, Vercel’s global build week (April 24 – May 3). All submissions go into the global competition at Vercel Community with $6,000+ in prizes.

The session:

• Welcome + a video message from the Vercel team • Walk through the 3 build tracks so you can pick your path • Live demo: watch an AI tool get built and deployed in real time • 60–90 minutes of hands-on building in breakout rooms • Show & tell — demo what you built to the group • Submit to the global competition before May 3

Three tracks to choose from

Durable Workflows — Build agents that run long tasks, survive crashes, and resume after deploys • v0 + MCPs — Build an AI app connected to external data (APIs, databases, third-party tools) • Chat Agents — Build agents that work across Slack, Discord, Teams, and GitHub

Don’t worry about choosing now. We’ll walk through all three at the start.

The process

  1. Sharpen your idea — You describe your problem. We help you turn it into the right prompt.

  2. Build — Your application is created step by step with AI in a breakout room. Ask questions, get unblocked, iterate.

  3. Take the result — By the end of the session, you’ll have a working web application you can use tomorrow.

Come with an idea

You’ll get the most out of the session if you already know what you want to build. Think about that one task that annoys you every week: the manual data entry, the endless copy-pasting between tools, the report that nobody wants to write. That’s your idea.

Three examples that are realistic in one session:

Compliance triage tool: You paste in a regulatory update or scheme mandate bulletin — the app extracts the key changes, flags what applies to your business, and drafts an action list. Instead of reading 40 pages and highlighting by hand.

Invoice checker: You upload a purchase order and the corresponding invoice — the app compares line items, quantities, and prices and shows you where there are discrepancies. Instead of placing both side by side and going through them manually.

Customer response drafter: You paste in a customer complaint or query — the app categorises it, pulls the relevant policy, and drafts a response. Instead of searching through templates and rewriting from scratch each time.

How to describe your idea — ask yourself three questions:

• Who uses it? (e.g., “Me and my ops team”) • What goes in? (e.g., “A PDF invoice and a purchase order”) • What comes out? (e.g., “A list of mismatches with amounts flagged”)

The clearer your in-and-out, the faster you’ll have a working result.

You don’t have an idea yet? No problem — you’ll find one in the breakout rooms. But those who come with a specific problem leave with a specific solution.

What you bring

• Your laptop • A free Vercel account (sign up at vercel.com/signup) • Your most annoying process — the task you want to get rid of

Super Bonus:

Every attendee receives $30 in v0 credits to build with during the event — courtesy of Vercel.
