Art Is a Startup (and Startups Are Art): The Real Work of Selling & Making (public, in-person event)
Art is supposed to be pure. Startups are supposed to be rational.
Neither is true.
Red Bridge Lisbon invites you to an evening salon at Cedrus Capital— a VC office whose walls were curated by founder Roshi Kamdar of ROSHI CO and Cedrus Curated. The space makes the argument before anyone says a word.
The conversations
→ Personal brand: storytelling and authenticity as the engine of growth — When you become the brand, the boundary between you and the work blurs in ways that are hard to undo — and sometimes that's exactly the point. Ozioma Egwuonwu (strategist, TEDx, SXSW, UN) and Inês Pargana (artist), moderated by Kate Shifman — photographer, curator, and founder who has lived this from both sides.
→ Patronage & mentorship: experience and access — Behind every leap, there's usually someone who saw it coming before anyone else did and knew exactly which doors to open. Tim Ward (founder, mentor at Unicorn Factory Lisbon) and Xavier Auza (cultural producer, LUZ_AIR / Simon Watson Arts), moderated by Roshi Kamdar.
→ The role of capital: scale vs independence — Whether it comes from a VC or a gallery, capital changes the conversation — the question is always what you give up to get it. Pedro Coutinho (Managing Partner, Transatlantic Highway Ventures) and artist Rudoflo Quintas, moderated by Anel Imanbay and designed by Jemi Lacle of The Collectors Circle.
