Fashion Is The Problem - Let's Argue About It
Fashion Takes Action is partnering with Patagonia Toronto for a screening of their film Shitthropocene - a wild, thought-provoking journey into our lack of impulse control, how capitalism has expertly hacked our brains, and how we might begin to save ourselves… from ourselves. (Also: dancing cave people.)
After the screening, stick around for an improv-style comedic debate where comedians are forced to defend wildly questionable takes, like whether fast fashion is actually great for the planet, or if we should all be buying more clothes, not less.
Why attend? Let’s be honest. You’ve heard the stats. The guilt. The “stop buying fast fashion” message over and over again. And yet… nothing’s changing fast enough. So, we’re trying something different.
Through humour, debate, and a bit of absurdity, this event will cut through climate fatigue and makes the contradictions of our consumption habits impossible to ignore.
