Wulai Waterfall Coworking with Vinyl DJ
Join 508.dev, Worca, and The Coworking App for a day of vinyl-fueled focus. Held at a cafe overlooking Wulai waterfall, let the vinyl vibes and the handcrafted wood interior of TonyX cafe get you into the zone. Featuring beats from DJ T.A.

This event is a coworking event at a cafe in Wulai. We will have a live DJ on a vinyl turntable playing a focus-tuned set of old school hip-hop, soul, and funk on the excellent, hand-made sound system of TonyX. All wood fixtures in the venue are hand-made by the owner, including the tables, seats, speakers, and shelves, lending the venue a singularly unique vibe. Floor to ceiling plate glass windows wrap the entire east and south-east side of the restaurant, lending an unspoiled view of Wulai waterfall as a backdrop for your work and a nice concessional distraction when you need to look away from your screen.
Light networking is encouraged, and we will have some side-areas for chatting, taking a break, and getting to know people. In the main working areas, attendees will be requested to keep conversations to a minimum, to encourage a focused working environment. Typically our attendees are a mix of digital nomads, immigrants, and Taiwanese, with a majority speaking English, however many there will be able to speak Mandarin (the organizers can speak Mandarin and English fluently). Our attendees are usually from a mixed background of software engineering, research, academia, design, journalism, and content creation. There are always many interesting conversations to have!
Schedule
The event is on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
9:30am: For the hardcore, you can start your day with an ice cold dip in the river followed with a relaxation in the natural outdoor hot spring on the banks of Wulai River.
11am: Have pre-organized lunch with other remote workers featuring traditional indigenous Taiwan dishes in a Wulai restaurant
12pm: Doors open and DJ starts spinning at TonYX. Get a drink and/or snack, grab a seat, plug in, connect to the venue-provided wifi, and lock in
5:30pm: Doors close and DJ stops spinning. Have a pre-organized dinner with other remote workers

This event has no intermediaries such as lightning talks, due to the limited time we have in the cafe itself.
Cost
~670NTD + ~250NTD (see below)
The only required cost for the event is a portion of the DJ's fee, a drink at the cafe, and a portion of the venue fee. The DJ fee will likely be ~500NTD per person, depending on number of attendees. The venue fee will likely be ~170NTD. Drinks at TonyX are all roughly ~250NTD, and there is a 1 drink minimum required purchase. Cash will be collected at the door for the DJ and venue fee (totaling ~670NTD). These prices will be updated as we get closer to the event and have a better idea how many people are attending. If attendance is unexpectedly low, 508.dev will bear the cost necessary to achieve at least the above listed prices.
For optional activities, Lunch is estimated to be around 250NTD per person, and Dinner to be around 350NTD per person. The natural river swim / hot spring is free.

Walk underground to Beimen station. Take the MRT Green Line South from Beimen station to Xindian (23min). Take the 849 bus from the Xindian bus stop (outside the MRT) (25min) . Walk 13 minutes to Scenic Train Wulai Station. Take the train to the Scenic Train Waterfall Station (3m). Walk to TonyX (7 minutes). Total: 1 hr 33 minutes

Take MRT Green Line South from Beimen station to Xindian (23 min). Hire uber or taxi in Xindian to take direct to TonyX cafe (30 min, ~300NTD).

我們鼓勵進行一些輕鬆的交流，並會設置一些休息區供大家聊天、休息和互相認識。在主要工作區，為了營造專注的工作氛圍，請各位盡量減少交談。我們的與會者通常由數位遊牧者、移民和台灣本地居民組成，大部分人講英語，但也有不少人會說普通話（組織者能說一口流利的普通話和英語）。與會者的背景也各不相同，涵蓋軟體工程、研究、學術界、設計、新聞和內容創作等領域。相信總能碰撞出許多有趣的火花！
費用
本次活動的唯一費用是支付一部分DJ費用以及在咖啡廳點一杯飲品。 DJ費用預計每人約500新台幣，具體金額取決於參加人數。 TonyX咖啡廳的飲品價格約為250元台幣，且每人至少需消費一杯。 DJ費用將在入口處以現金收取。
可選活動方面，午餐預計每人約250台幣，晚餐預計每人約350台幣。天然河水游泳/溫泉免費。

上午11:00：與其他遠距工作者在烏來河畔餐廳享用預先安排好的午餐，品嚐台灣傳統原住民美食。
中午12:00：TonYX 活動開始，DJ 現場打碟。享用飲料和/或小吃（包含在活動費用中），找個座位坐下，連接電源和場地提供的無線網絡，然後開始工作。
下午 5:30：活動結束，DJ 停止播放音樂。與其他遠距工作者一起享用預先安排好的晚餐。
