​Get ready to join us with Nora Bateson, one of the most fascinating thinkers working at the crossroads of ecology, systems, and human relationships, for a late afternoon of readings and conversation of over 150 years of intergenerational expression of ecological inquiry.

​Nora leads the International Bateson Institute, where she developed the “Warm Data” concept and practices, a way of noticing complexity that resists the urge to break everything down into neat, isolated parts. If you've ever felt like the usual way of analyzing the world's messiest issues misses the point entirely, her work will feel like a breath of fresh air.

She's coming to CPH to introduce her brand new book, 'Belly’, along with her late father's new book, ‘Ecology of Mind: The course.’ Her father Greogory Bateson was an influential thinker of the 20th century.

Conceived half a century apart, both of which opens up an enormous universe for us to explore infinite orders of change. 

Come through if you're into systems thinking, ecology, complexity, or just love a good conversation that leaves you seeing the world a bit differently.

In 1976, Gregory Bateson taught a course called An Ecology of Mind. For nearly fifty years, the recordings of that course sat in the archive, unpublished and unheard by most, even while the ideas continued. Compiled and edited by Phillip Guddemi from the transcripts of recorded lectures, this 465-page volume breathes the course into new form and onto the page: Gregory in conversation and mid-thought, telling stories, circling questions from many angles. A new entry point into learning to think ecologically.
