Designing Better Climate Futures with En-ROADS | Session 1: Explore the System

​What if you could prototype different climate futures and see what happens?

​Join us for a two-part, hands-on workshop series, where we’ll use an award-winning climate model En-ROADS co-developed by Climate Interactive and MIT Sloan to explore how different choices can shape the future.

​Across two 60-minute interactive sessions, we’ll experiment with strategies spanning energy efficiency, waste reduction, nature-based solutions, and technological innovation.

​We’ll see how these interventions can influence your design work, climate outcomes, and reduce the health, environmental, and financial impacts of climate change.

​Along the way, you’ll build practical mental models for understanding the interconnected systems behind climate, energy, and land use, and explore how these insights can inform your work as a designer.

​Session 1: Explore the system (OCT 13)
Get introduced to the En-ROADS model and experiment with different climate strategies to see how they shape possible futures.

​Session 2: Design a future (OCT 28)
Roll up your sleeves and work together to build a scenario for a thriving, resilient future. Think of it as a collaborative design challenge with a global system as your canvas.

​This isn’t a doomerism type of event. Just systems thinking, experimentation, and the opportunity to imagine and help design a future that works.
