Big Kid Club: an evening of creative play and exploration
An Evening of Journaling, Play, Doodling, Music, and More. Join Emily Chertow of Journaling Classes and Mack Huneke of The Mackenzie Experience for an evening designed for the big kids.
Part creative playground, part workshop, part experiment, this gathering is an invitation to reconnect with curiosity, imagination, and the joy of creating simply because it feels good.
Throughout the evening, we'll move between guided moments and open exploration. Expect a blend of:
✿ Journaling and reflection
✿ Doodling, drawing, and playful prompts
✿ Music and sensory experiences
✿ Collaborative games and creative activities
✿ Movement, storytelling, and surprises
✿ Plenty of room for laughter, connection, and wandering
This is for anyone who:
• Misses camp
• Loves arts and crafts
• Wants a break from productivity and performance
• Is craving creativity, play, and community
• Needs permission to be a little silly
• Wants to reconnect with wonder
No artistic ability is required. No pressure to "do it right." Just bring your curiosity and whatever version of yourself arrives that day.
Consider yourself part of the experiment.
Emily and Mack are dreaming up experiences for younger humans rooted in creativity, emotional expression, and play. Before sharing them with little ones, we're gathering with the big kids first.
Together, we'll explore, create, and remember something many of us have forgotten:
Play isn't something we outgrow. It's something we return to.
What to bring:
• Your sweet self
• Comfortable clothes you can move and create in
• A journal, if you'd like (materials will also be provided)
• A willingness to play
All are welcome.
All sales are final. Please check your calendars prior to booking.
If the cost of the workshop is limiting you from attending, please reach out to me on Instagram (@journalingclasses). Without question or judgment, we will find something that aligns and works in accommodation.
