Performing songwriter Allison Priesinger will walk you through the creative process of building music around a poem, discuss artistic decision-making, and examine how poetry can guide melody, structure, and emotional tone. Designed for writers, musicians, and creatives curious about cross-genre collaboration and adaptation. There will be time for questions and the sharing of a couple of songs from the album.
Presenter's bio:
Allison Preisinger is a performing songwriter and the founder of AMP Studio, a small business specializing in collaborative projects with clients to produce high-quality podcasts, audiobooks, and other audio content. Her boutique business produces podcasts that highlight Indigenous Voices, provides resources for Bladder Cancer patients and their loved ones, and is niche-focused. She works closely with authors who want to narrate their own stories to help their goals and projects come to life.
As a performer, Allison is known for her evocative, Americana-infused sound played against the background of many influences, including Iron & Wine and Tom Petty. Her most recent release, Standing Steady (2025), is a heartfelt exploration of stillness and simplicity, intertwining her music with poems from various poets to create a deeply personal and therapeutic work. A multi-instrumentalist with a passion for storytelling, Allison aspires to use her art to uplift, connect, and share the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
