About Event

Your voice is key to building a clean, reliable, and affordable energy future for our community.

What to Expect

The program will feature a moderated panel of practitioners and policy leaders from a variety of areas including energy efficiency policy and regulation, virtual power plants, and utility energy efficiency programs. Following a panel, the forum will have a policy discussion to surface concrete policy ideas, including an opportunity for the public to weigh in on policy solutions based on the ideas surfaced in the forum.

Agenda Highlights

Welcome & Scene‑Setting - Stories and data on energy affordability and efficiency across homes, commercial buildings, small businesses, nonprofits, and public facilities.

Expert Panel Discussion – Moderated Q&A on metrics, workforce opportunities, common misconceptions, program gaps, and high‑impact opportunities.

Facilitated Discussion – Participants identify barriers, priority investments, and policy solutions.

Why It Matters — Beyond Homes to New Mexico’s Entire Built Environment

Energy efficiency is a powerful tool for reducing emissions, easing pressure on infrastructure, and lowering energy bills. New Mexico faces particular challenges for low‑income households, small businesses, and nonprofits operating in older or inefficient buildings.

Existing tools—including the Efficient Use of Energy Act, Sustainable Building Tax Credit, and Community Energy Efficiency Development (CEED) program—provide strong foundations that can be scaled with your input.
