The Art of Excess: A Beaded Embroidery Atelier with wine
Hosted in partnership with Studio Sollar
📍 De Willem, Amsterdam
🗓 Sunday, August 31
🕞 15:30–17:30
Join us for an indulgent afternoon of needle, thread, and wine as we dive into the art of excess through beaded embroidery inspired by historical symbols from the Baroque, Rococo, and Renaissance eras. Think sacred hearts, all-seeing eyes, golden rays, and celestial florals—motifs once stitched into royal robes and religious relics, now reimagined for your modern wardrobe.
Led by the Studio Sollar, a Netherlands-based crafting studio known for their luxe handmade approach, this hands-on atelier invites you to embroider directly onto your own clothing—or create a patch you can sew on later.
🎁 Your ticket includes:
An embroidery hoop, threads, beads, and needle
Extra fabric for those who don't want to work directly on clothes
2 glasses of wine to sip while you stitch at the cozy and creative De Willem
💡 Recommended: bring your own piece to embroider! Denim, velvet and structured fabrics work best for the theme, but anything meaningful or fun is welcome.
