User-Centric vs. Technology-Driven – The Innovation Debate | MeetUp @HelloDigital.
Innovation is often equated with technology. A new tool, a breakthrough in AI, or the latest platform and suddenly it’s called innovation. But does every new technology really solve what innovation demands? Or does true innovation start elsewhere: with people, their needs, frustrations, and aspirations or do you need insight into new technical possibilities in order to come up with good ideas?
This debate tackles the tension between two opposing forces:
building fast vs. understanding deeply.
We’ll explore:
Can one approach lead to successful innovation without the other?
How do user needs shape or limit the potential of technology?
And where should you really begin if you want to create something meaningful and sustainable?
To explore these questions, we'll be hosting an exciting discussion moderated by Lars Grau with our guests:
Lieke Ypma (telling.eu) puts deep user understanding at the center of every project
Adrien Hobt (gentle.systems) explores how new technologies spark unexpected possibilities
Expect sharp perspectives, honest debate, and fresh thinking about what “innovation” really means. After the panel, connect with Berlin’s creative community over drinks and barbecue.
Schedule
6:00pm – Doors open
7:30pm – Panel + Q&A
8:30pm – Drinks & Barbecue
Looking forward to seeing you there,
Andreas, Felix, Tom & Lars
