Tell Me Everything, Now Stop Talking
We are doing this event to help inaugurate Pluto: Toronto’s Fourth Space, in its first week of operation! This will be one of the first opportunities to experience Pluto in action, get to know the space, and meet others who are part of the emerging community.
Misha has done this event several times in San Francisco, but this its first appearance in Toronto.
It takes a lifetime to know someone completely. If you’re doing it wrong. If you’re doing it right, it can take about twelve minutes.
This is the thesis behind “Tell Me Everything, Now Stop Talking”, a participatory show where we’ll speedrun each other and embrace the beautiful, heart-opening awkwardness of group intimacy.
First, we’ll begin with the “Get to know this human show,” where Misha Glouberman will demonstrate, on stage, how to perform this daring stunt. Then, we’ll break into groups and become a mutual soul-peering community. Finally, we will break into a normal party with the people who just did this thing together.
Do you like people? Are you on the fence about them? Either way, you might enjoy this.
Part 1: A Show: “Get to know this human” (an hour or so). A person is chosen from the audience. Anybody can ask them any question, they can refuse to answer if they want. The goal is to get to know this person fully, to the core of their humanity. We have 12 minutes per person, which is probably enough.
Part 2: An activity: Same thing, but with each other (another hour or so) We put people into small groups and each and do that same activity. Get to know some people! Get known!
Part 3: A party: Hang out in a room with a bunch of people who just did this thing together.
