[IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL] The EV Adoption Gap: Where Climate Capital Should Look Next
1 in 3 Americans are considering an EV. Only 1 in 25 buy one. It's one of the largest underbuilt conversion problems in climate, and the incumbents aren't structured to solve it.
U.S. passenger vehicles emit 1 GT of CO2 a year, 3% of all global emissions. Most of the climate conversation focuses on technology, price, and charging. But battery costs are dropping, charging is expanding, and the cars are good. The unsolved problem is the buyer journey itself: how someone goes from interested in an EV to purchasing one.
Built for climate investors, mobility founders, and operators looking for venture-scale opportunities in the EV transition. Expect a candid conversation grounded in operating experience.
In this 60-minute moderated discussion, we'll cover:
Where EV adoption breaks in the buyer journey
Why incumbents (automakers, dealers, and marketplaces) aren't closing the gap, and what that opens up
Role of utilities in marketing EVs
How gas prices move EV buyers
Walk away with:
A clearer map of the adoption gap and where it can be closed
A sharper thesis on where to build or invest next
Direct connections to other investors and founders working this space (we'll curate intros based on what you tell us at signup)
Light refreshments and morning snacks will be provided. Networking before and after.
