Climate, AI, and Dog Poop: A Workshop on Designing Change
Climate change and AI are reshaping how organizations, teams, and people will operate over the next decade.
Radical change is hard to imagine until it happens. Not long ago, picking up after your dog on the street wasn't the norm. Now it's second nature.
Most organizations are built to repeat what has worked, and to do it well. But what happens when the past stops being a reliable guide to what comes next?
Who will we serve? What will they need? What will success look like? Why will this organization exist?
Join us for this playful, hands-on workshop on the serious question of how might an organization navigate radical change. This is designed to be a participatory session where the value will come from the collective wisdom and experience of the people in the room.
During the session, we will:
Spot the signals of change across social, technological, economic, environmental, political, and values-driven forces
Build multiple possible futures and challenge the assumptions of a single future
Work backwards to ask what needs to change now for our organizations to thrive in the futures we want
Find your "dog poop" change: the once-unthinkable shift your team could begin designing or testing today
You'll leave with a Change Brief: a snapshot of the questions, framings, and implications for your team, and a starting point for one change you can act on.
No futures expertise needed. Everyone is welcome.
