About Event

Enjoy dinner drinks and a chance to meet:

Yee Mun Thum (call her Yee Mun!), Managing Director at Angel Academe, the UK's most active and longest-established female-focused angel network. Since 2014, Angel Academe's mainly female investors have backed 60 female-founded tech startups, helping them attract over £200m in co- and follow-on investment.

Yee Mun brings almost two decades of experience across entrepreneurship, early-stage investing and digital strategy - and she's a founder herself, having co-founded and exited a consumer startup. This is a rare chance to hear directly from someone who sits on both sides of the table.

What they invest in:

Angel Academe backs ambitious, technology-based startups with at least one woman on the founding team.

Their focus spans fintech, medtech, edtech, cyber security, clean tech and enterprise software.

Through their angel network, founders typically attract £70k-£350k in angel funding, and successful raises from the network can unlock an additional ~£125k from the Angel Academe EIS fund as well as £60k from the British Business Bank.

Their investment portfolio includes:

With 60 investments across 109+ funding rounds, notable Angel Academe portfolio companies include:

  • Provenance, the AI-enabled product data platform helping retailers and brands engage customers;

  • Béa Fertility, the FDA-cleared at-home insemination treatment;

  • Enterprise Alumni, a corporate alumni management platform whose clients include Google, LinkedIn and Coca-Cola;

  • Zonova, a medtech embedding patented antimicrobial protection directly into medical devices;

  • Onteric, a fintech delivering explainable, auditable AI that transforms how financial service businesses extract, understand and trust data.

Their exits include Applied, Improvewell, Figaro, Dressipi, BuddyBounce, Bewica, Akoni, Salve.

This dinner is perfect for:

Startup founders, CEOs and management-level leaders at early-stage ventures. If you're passionate about growing your company and learning from the best in the industry, you will find this evening invaluable.

Not quite in one of those roles? Reach out to see if there's a fit!

If you're not a founder, there's one place available at each dinner - please choose the correct ticket.

The dinner conversation will be:

As a former founder, angel investor and now Managing Director of the UK's leading female-focused network, Yee Mun will share insights on:

  • What angel investors really look for when assessing female-founded startups

  • How to structure and position your raise to stand out from the crowd
