The Power of Storytelling: Shaping Narratives for Social Change
Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for driving social change, influencing policy, and mobilizing communities. But in an era of information overload, how do we ensure impactful stories are heard, remembered, and acted upon? This session will explore how storytelling can shift mindsets, challenge misinformation, and drive action on critical issues such as gender rights, health equity, and climate justice.
We will discuss how funders and advocates can invest in storytelling infrastructure, bridge the gap between digital advocacy and philanthropy, and support proximate storytellers who are shaping narratives from within their communities. Participants will also examine how emerging technologies, media partnerships, and participatory storytelling can amplify voices, cut through the noise, and spark lasting impact.
Key Questions:
How can storytelling be used to reframe narratives on gender, health, and climate justice?
What strategies can ensure that impactful stories reach the right audiences and inspire action?
How can funders and social impact leaders invest in storytelling as a long-term strategy for systemic change?
What role do digital advocacy, AI, and emerging media technologies play in storytelling for social impact?
How can grassroots and proximate storytellers be better supported in shifting public perception and policy?
This session will bring together storytellers, advocates, funders, and digital strategists to explore the evolving role of narrative in shaping movements and reimagining solutions for a more just world.
