Workshop Overview
This is a hands-on textile painting workshop where you’ll learn accessible, at-home techniques for printing and painting on different fabrics.
Techniques You’ll Learn: the How-to's
How to bleach print on dark and colored clothing
How to turn regular acrylic paint into fabric paint
How to use screen printing ink without a screen
How to heat-seal your designs at home
How to wash garments for long-lasting wear
What Your Instructor Provides
All materials and printed instructions
A demonstration before the workshop begins
A variety of scrap fabric blends for experimentation
Guidance and answers to questions throughout the class
A collaborative atmosphere—I'll be creating alongside you!
Heat sealing your finished designs before you leave
Bring Your Own Piece (Optional)
You’re encouraged to bring something from home if you’d like to customize it.
Examples:
An old pillowcase
A shirt that needs “something more”
Any textile piece you’d like to transform
(Not required — plenty of clothing and textiles will be provided.)
There will also be a selection of street-found clothing available for customization.

About the Instructor
Juliane Roberts-Hansen (artist name 777jules) is a painter and jewelry designer who has been working as a textile artist for four years. For the past three years she has developed and refined her own at-home textile techniques.
Since beginning these workshops in January 2025, she has hosted 15+ classes at galleries, local businesses, and regional festivals including:

This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower:
We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts.
