Azad Sessions #12: Mime Workshop with Prattyush Varsney
What can silence say?
Azad Reads brings you Azad Sessions #12: a special Mime Workshop where expression goes beyond words. Through movement, body language, facial expressions, and imagination, participants will explore the art of storytelling without speech.
This 4-hour interactive workshop will include exercises, theatre games, creative movement, and practical demonstrations that gradually lead into short mime performances. Whether you are curious about performance arts, communication, or simply want to experience something new, this workshop is designed to be engaging, playful, and immersive.
The workshop will be conducted by Prattyush Varsney aka Rishu — a theatre artist and actor with experience across 40+ stage productions and 125+ street plays across India. He is a recipient of the Young Artist Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and has trained in Mime under Padmashri Niranjan Goswami, with advanced workshops at the National Mime Institute, Kolkata, and FTII Pune.
Apart from performance skills, the session also focuses on confidence-building, observation, teamwork, emotional expression, and stage presence.
