Carried

A Thirdspace Thirdweeks gathering

Memory.
Migration.
Taste as language.

For this morning, we gather with Chef Jesús Durón, formerly of Pujol, whose work moves between memory, migration, and craft.

Through food, Jesús explores identity as something lived and continually evolving. Taste becomes a language—carrying story, place, discipline, and roots.

In Carried, we consider what happens when a cuisine moves without losing its memory.

How does a cook translate one landscape through another? How do ingredients carry identity across borders? How might microseasonality create a dialogue between Mexico and Japan?

Together, we explore food not simply as expression, but as a record of movement, inheritance, and becoming.

Not a demonstration.
A conversation.

An invitation to consider what we carry with us—and what changes when it takes root somewhere new.

Thirdspace Thirdweeks

Co-curated by Tokyo Salone and semi permanent with teenage engineering, Thirdspace Thirdweeks is a year-round series of intimate gatherings at Soho House Tokyo.

Designed for our community, these sessions bring global cultural practitioners across art, design, technology, gastronomy, and music into conversation.

Together, they contribute to a growing cultural infrastructure in Japan, shaped through dialogue, exchange, and shared perspective.

Attendance

Only 20 seats are reserved for the global semi permanent community.

These places offer access to an otherwise members-only gathering, followed by the opportunity to experience Soho House Tokyo and its community.

Attendance is subject to confirmation.

In conversation with

Jesús Durón / MASA

Jesús Durón refined his craft across Europe before joining Pujol in Mexico City, where he helped shape the evolution of its contemporary cuisine during a period that culminated in Michelin-star recognition.

From the Basque Country to the Mediterranean coast, and later at La Marine under Alexandre Couillon, Jesús developed a way of working grounded in seasonality, seafood, and vegetables.

Today in Tokyo, his life project, MASA, explores microseasonality as a dialogue between Mexico and Japan—shaped by time, place, memory, and roots.

Beyond Japan, the work continues through different landscapes and communities, guided by the same intent.

Venue

Soho House Tokyo

Founded in London in 1995 as a discreet refuge for creative minds, Soho House has grown into a global network grounded in culture and connection. Since April 2026, Soho House Tokyo continues this tradition from its home in Aoyama, one of the city’s most vital design districts.

Designed for connection and discretion, the House offers an environment where dialogue unfolds naturally, and relationships deepen over time.

Not a stage.

A room where velocity becomes conversation.

Partnering with Tokyo Salone

Tokyo Salone is built for the long term. Rather than sponsoring a single event, our partners become part of an evolving cultural institution connecting global creative communities with Japan.

If our ambitions align, we’d love to start a conversation.
