​WebXR Worldsharing Sunday afternoon -
An open floor & projector to share a digital/immersive art worlds during the Fall of Freedom weekend

​CONTEXT:
Inspired by the this summer's Personal Worldbuilding class out the the Gray Area research department -- where over the course of ten weeks we learned a variety of tools to create 3D WebXR worlds, inspired by Claudia's personal 3D cosmologies practice.

​EVENT:
We want to see who's got a story or art to share in our community! All are welcome, even if we know that right now building in 3D is not always accessible -- this small event is a seed to see what IS possible! Both of us were so inspired by the class and the stories in the Zoom, we wanted another chance to come together in person and share work, share tea, and ...

​FALL OF FREEDOM WEEKEND:
Across the nation we are feeling the ripple effects of this era's ease with overreaching power and inequity. Fall of Freedom is call to any and all that want to join in to create joyous examples of freedom of expression. Any size counts! In our small class we found so much beauty in the work being made and the stories told, we want to open that up for whoever wants to come in. More about Fall of Freedom here:

A word from Claudia Miranda:
A lot of immersive tech aims to create grand, smooth, seamless experiences. I wanted to teach the opposite. Small, personal worlds made by hand, out of the objects, figures, emotions, and experiences each of us already carries. Seeing everyone build theirs was a real privilege. No two worlds looked anything alike, what a gift. There's no single world these tools are supposed to make. That plurality feels like the thing worth defending right now. Come share yours, in whatever state it's in. I can't wait to walk through what you've all built.

​A word from Danielle Giroux:
For years I've worked with the finished product of immersive XR but never was able to see how things are made. Claudia's process was so meaningful and surprising for me. My personal tech tools haven't been good enough for me to actually make in New Art City, but I'm actually grateful for this because it made me focus on what was happening in the classes. It was amazing seeing the work everyone made! So inspiring, all I want to do is gather in the incubator and project those worlds and let folks who want to share their WebXR and talk about what it means to them! So let's do it!
