Sewing 102- Adults- Learn to Sew a Quilted Laptop Case (with a closure)
Learn to Sew a Quilted Laptop Case (with a magnetic snap and bias binding)
This beginner-friendly sewing workshop is designed for adults who want to build their skills while creating a functional, handmade project in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of sewing a quilted laptop case featuring a magnetic snap closure and clean bias binding finishes.
Because this is a small class with only 6 spots available, each participant will receive plenty of individualized instruction, hands-on guidance, and support throughout the project. While this workshop is beginner-friendly, basic sewing knowledge is preferred so participants feel comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing simple seams.
We’ll cover foundational and more intermediate skills such as layering and quilting fabric, creating structure and padding, attaching bias binding, installing a magnetic snap, and sewing clean, professional-looking seams. Participants will leave with a finished quilted laptop case and new skills they can apply to future sewing projects.
All materials are provided and we have 5 sewing machines available for use! Participants are also welcome to bring their own fabric if they have a specific look or color palette in mind. We encourage bringing your own sewing machine if you have one!
By the end of class, participants will leave with a finished project, expanded sewing skills, and the confidence to tackle more advanced handmade pieces.
