The Wedding Of OONA & David - TIL The Cameras Do Us Part
The event is presented by HERVISIONS, The Second-Guess, and Shoreditch Arts Club. Dear David is powered by Art on Tezos.
On October 16 in London, THE WEDDING: OONA & DAVID, ’Til the Cameras Do Us Part, a live performance, will bring OONA’s Dear David: A Surveillance Love Story to its eighth and final chapter.
After seven years of emailing, OONA is finally ready to make it official. Since 2019, OONA has filed official requests for the CCTV footage captured of her on the London Underground. Through these requests, she began an unlikely and warm correspondence with David, a CCTV Data Manager who has worked for Transport for London for the past 30 years.
What began as bureaucracy became Dear David: A Surveillance Love Story, exploring visibility, consent, surveillance, and self-sovereignty through the very cameras built to watch her.
Now, OONA is turning that relationship into a live surveillance wedding, with the audience joining as wedding guests, witnesses, and CCTV viewers.
After all, if someone has been watching you for seven years, isn’t it time to define the relationship?

ABOUT THE ARTIST TALK
We’re in a Relationship with the Machine
Following the final chapter of Dear David, OONA joins Aleksandra Art, Head of Arts at Trilitech, for an artist talk about surveillance, performance, and the relationships we form with the technologies that watch us.
ABOUT THE HOSTS
OONA (b. 2021) is an anonymous performance and conceptual artist. She does not exist, but she takes herself seriously, so you should too.
Her performances and interventions have taken place at institutions, museums, and art fairs, including MoMA and The Met in New York and Art Basel Miami. Her work has been presented at HEK Basel, the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, and in solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, among others.
The artist studied at Central Saint Martins in London, where she began researching surveillance, visibility, and lens-based media in 2019. She emerged as OONA in 2021 and has since developed a practice spanning performance, moving image, and digital art. Working anonymously, she never reveals her face while frequently making her own body the subject of the work.
