About
This event brings together service designers, UCD practitioners, and sustainability advocates to explore a shared challenge: how sustainability can be meaningfully embedded into user-centred and service design practice, beyond high-level principles.
Building on the Design Council’s Skills for Planet Blueprint and our Design Declare WIP guide, this session focuses on translating those guides into something practical and relevant for service designers working across different industries and contexts, particularly as technologies and ways of working continue to evolve.
Through a short show-and-tell and a collaborative workshop, we’ll surface the real challenges designers face in practice, share approaches, and collectively develop a work-in-progress sustainability guide tailored specifically for service designers.
By taking part, you’ll be contributing to:
A service designer–specific interpretation of the Design Council’s Green Skills Blueprint
A shared understanding of the challenges, trade-offs, and opportunities in sustainable service design
A community-informed, evolving guide shaped by real practice
This is an in-person event. We will be sharing a recording of the case study and share back of the workshop activities after the event.
