About the Hosts:
As Clean Energy Canada's Executive Director, Rachel Doran brings nearly 20 years of experience in policy, politics, and law to advance clean energy solutions for Canada’s sustainable economy. Before taking on this role, Rachel led our policy work across the energy transition and was a frequent commentator on energy policy, the electric vehicle market, and the broader energy transition. Prior to joining Clean Energy Canada, Rachel occupied numerous roles in two governments, serving most recently as Senior Special Advisor on Climate and Director of Legal Affairs to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. She also served as policy advisor to the Prime Minister, and chief of staff to Ministers of Justice and Indigenous Services. She was counsel for both the Ontario and federal governments, specializing in Indigenous consultation in natural resource management. She has a background in the management of non-profit organizations, and holds a law degree BA from McGill University and was called to the bar in both Ontario and Quebec.
Markham Hislop is a Canadian energy and climate journalist and commentator. He hosts the Energi Talks podcast, conducts video interviews with global experts and writes the Markham On Energy political analysis column.
