Chris Neumann is a 4x founder turned early-stage investor dedicated to helping founders around the world better understand, connect with and leverage Silicon Valley. Chris was most recently a General Partner at Panache Ventures, Canada’s leading early-stage fund. Before that, Chris founded Commonwealth Ventures, a San Francisco-based accelerator for Canadian and UK startups. He was also a Venture Partner at 500 Startups, the CEO and Cofounder of DataHero (acquired by Cloudability) and the first employee of Aster Data (acquired by Teradata). Chris shares his insights on startups, the business of venture capital and tech ecosystems through his blog chrisneumann.com.
Scott Elliot is the Co-Founder and CEO of Slate, a Vancouver-based fintech building embedded lending infrastructure that enables platforms to offer financing without building capital markets, underwriting, or compliance systems from scratch. Before founding Slate, Scott developed deep expertise across fintech, risk, and financial operations at industry leaders including Brex and Airwallex, where he scaled risk and compliance operations and helped shape core financial infrastructure. He also led underwriting and compliance at Keep, a Canadian small-business credit card platform, where he was responsible for developing credit models and overseeing execution. Earlier in his career, Scott worked at Goldman Sachs, developing a rigorous foundation in risk management and financial analysis. At Slate, he applies lessons from these environments to tackle real problems in small-business finance, partnerships, and product evolution, sharing practical insights from building and scaling early-stage fintech solutions.
