Los Angeles, California, USA, Wildfire hit the media the week of January 13, 2025 akin to a fleet of semi-tractor trailer trucks filled with dynamite. Dr. Greg was one of many First Responders on-hand to quell the fears of citizens under the weight of raging wildfire devastation leaving in its wake loss of property and loss of life.
Dr. Greg, as I affectionately call him will share with us:
How can the public and private sectors invest in human capital development and good jobs that contribute to the re-development of a modern and resilient society after a devastation event or in general?
Technological advancements were at work impacting everything from employment, skills and wealth distribution to healthcare, education and public services.
The most urgent of these impacts is the need to reskill and upskill people to meet the demands of the economy of tomorrow and capitalize on the millions of new jobs in emerging and frontier fields which are higher up the value chain.
With nearly 99% of homes and employment loss, the use of AI is anticipated to impact from debris removal to life search & rescue and will be augmented to work together with human capital rather than to fully automate AI integration.
