Travel and Hospitality Leaders' Dinner Roundtable

The Ortus Club, together with our Host, invites Data, Digital, Customer, and Commercial leaders across the travel and hospitality industry to join us for an intimate roundtable dinner in San Francisco on Wednesday, 3rd June. Expect a frank, closed-door conversation with a curated group of senior peers — no presentations, no pitches, just the kind of honest, off-the-record dialogue that cuts to the heart of the challenges you're actually facing.

The Topic

Data-Rich, Insight-Poor: Why Guest Experiences Still Feel Generic

The travel and hospitality industry has never had access to more data. Booking histories, loyalty programme interactions, on-property behaviour, digital footprints — the signals are all there. And yet, for many organisations, the guest experience still feels frustratingly generic. AI-driven personalisation efforts that promised to transform the relationship between brand and traveller are, too often, producing recommendations that feel broad, predictable, and impersonal.

The problem is rarely a lack of data. It is the fragmentation of that data across booking systems, loyalty platforms, and on-property touchpoints that prevents any single, actionable view of the guest from emerging. Add to that AI models trained to generalise rather than individualise, and the gap between what is possible and what is being delivered becomes stark.

This roundtable will take a critical look at why so many personalisation efforts fall short — and what it genuinely takes to move beyond the generic, towards guest journeys that are truly predictive, responsive, and individual.

Discussion questions will include:

  • How fragmented is your current view of the guest, and what would it realistically take to unify it?

  • Where are your AI models generalising when they should be individualising — and what is that costing you in guest loyalty and revenue?

  • What does a truly predictive guest journey look like in practice, and which organisations are getting closest to delivering it?
