Timed around New York City’s mayoral election week, unsaid reimagines the act of voting as a moment of collective reflection.
Instead of casting a ballot, participants are invited to step inside a booth and make space for the truths that often remain unspoken.
The question at the heart of the experience:
“What is something you never say aloud?”
Inside the booth, you’ll take a quiet moment to reflect and write down your response. Then, you’ll decide how to release it:
Post it on a Wall of Truths for others to witness, or
Shred it into a transparent container of unsaid truths.
By centering deeply personal expression without forcing vulnerability, unsaid creates a gentle, communal ritual of honesty.
Through acknowledging our shared silences across identities and beliefs, the project seeks to bridge divides and bring New Yorkers together before an important civic moment.
