About Event

LIMITED CAPACITY!! APPLY ASAP FOR PRIORITY!! ⚠️

Calling all XR developers, designers, and innovators! The Virtual Reality Initiative at ShiftSC is hosting RealityShift on April 18th, USC’s first Extended Reality (XR) hackathon. This event will be a full-day, 12-hour development sprint in which you and a team of up to 4 students will create an XR application that tackles a social problem. Students from all disciplines are welcome, including engineering, design, and business, to develop your project. Throughout the day, you will have the chance to engage in ideation sessions, hands-on development, mentorship, workshops, and final project demos. Prompts and the problem statement for the main track will be revealed on the day of the event.

We are excited to announce that we will have sponsorship tracks such as Snap, with pre-event workshops to help you develop for the Spectacles. No headset? No worries, RealityShift will be able to provide either Meta Quests or Snap Spectacles to lend for the event.

Join us for a day to develop innovative immersive projects and the chance to gain recognition and win $3k+ in prize pools. The event will be from 8am - 10pm, at the University of Southern California campus.

The Virtual Reality Initiative is a subsidiary of ShiftSC, USC’s premier ethical technology organization, committed to exploring how emerging technologies can be developed and used responsibly to create positive social impact.
