Sun Day Houston 2025
Sun Day, September 21 (The Autumn Equinox) is a day of action to celebrate solar and wind power, and the widespread adoption of renewable energy sources in Texas and worldwide. This celebration event will feature inspirational speakers, exhibits, workshops, music, fun activities, food, and fellowship that focus on learning what actions individuals can take to counter climate change and promote the adoption of clean, reliable energy statewide and on a small scale in communities, businesses, homes, and apartments. Attendees will see mobile solar and home solar battery displays, electric vehicle show and tell, and other hands-on renewable energy demonstrations.
Featured speakers: Daniel Cohan, PhD, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University, will speak on the science of renewable energy and its growing role in ERCOT and the national U.S. energy grid. Andrea Oyuela, Manager of the Harris County Solar for All Program to expand solar energy access to underserved communities in our area, will update us on the historic $250 million grant to the Texas for Solar for All Coalition and how Houston-area residents can benefit. Andrea’s international development experience includes projects in Kenya, Norway, and Italy.
More than 200 Sun Day celebration events are expected to occur across the U.S.; join us in Houston! Moe info https://sundayhouston.org/
