About Event

Join Yale Planetary Solutions, AI at Yale, and the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies for a lecture by Dr. Peter Kareiva on the intersection of AI and biodiversity.

Dr. Kareiva, both a conservation biologist and mathematical biologist, has led the Conservation Biology Division at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center for NOAA, was the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, and most recently served for 5 years as the CEO of the Aquarium of the Pacific.

In advance of two intersecting events on April 28th–Yale’s Biodiversity Day and the AI at Yale Symposium 2026– Dr. Kareiva will share his deep expertise in community-based conservation and the applications of AI to conservation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a moderated Q&A session. The lecture will be followed by a reception.

The lecture will take place in Kroon Hall's Burke Auditorium on the 3rd floor.
