Equitable Finance Opportunities for Forest Stewardship
This event takes place in the Central Park Zoo Education Room.
As forests continue to be lost at alarming rates, areas with enduring intact forests become ever more critical to conserve. This session will focus on how highly forested landscapes, including those classified as High Forest, Low Deforestation (HFLD), can access critical funding opportunities to continue remaining forested.
Speakers will examine complementary climate finance ideas to preserving standing forests, supporting high-integrity investment in forests and nature at various scales. Topics of discussion will include HFLD carbon crediting methodologies, HIFOR, and TFFF. The session will highlight new frameworks and tools that help demonstrate impact in areas with strong existing protections but new and ongoing threats.
