Unlocking Space for Insurance with ESA: From Demand‑Driven Needs to Supply‑Side Innovation
Location:
Workshop Room, 2nd Floor, InterContinental London (The O2), London
Description:
Space based data and technologies are creating powerful new opportunities for companies looking to develop innovative insurance solutions. This workshop is designed for businesses – start-ups, SMEs, and innovators – that have a new idea in the insurance domain and want to understand how Earth observation, satellite communication, and satellite navigation can strengthen or differentiate their offering. Through concrete use cases, ESA will highlight how space data can transform key insurance processes, from underwriting and risk profiling to real time monitoring and claims management. Examples will cover areas such as agricultural insurance, climate and natural hazard risk, emissions and sustainability assessment, asset monitoring, and parametric insurance models. Participants will also discover the support ESA provides to help companies turn early-stage ideas into commercially viable products and services. This includes funding instruments tailored to innovative businesses, combined with business and technical support, ESA branding, and access to ESA’s partner network. By the end of the workshop, attendees will clearly understand the value of integrating space data and technologies into their insurance related concepts and how to collaborate with ESA to accelerate development, validate their solution, and reach the market faster.
