About Event

On the occasion of National Startup Day, SINE, IIT Bombay invites you to a focused, practitioner-led session designed to help startups bridge the critical gap between prototype and market-ready products.

The session emphasizes the importance of integrating design thinking right from the prototype stage, ensuring your products are user-friendly, functional, and efficient. Learn how Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles can guide your product development, and discover how to connect effectively with manufacturers to scale your production.

Session Highlights

  • Structuring effective design briefs, project requirements, and specifications

  • Adopting the right design approach focusing on desirability, viability, feasibility, and sustainability

  • Transforming IP/POC to viable product idea with examples steps involved in the process

  • Design reviews, evaluation, and validation involving users and key stakeholders (business, manufacturing, etc.)

  • Introduction to DFM / DFMA frameworks for scalable manufacturing

  • Interactive discussions addressing real startup challenges
