About Event

Join us for a webinar introducing the Climate Curve Prize: Methane, the first global prize dedicated to accelerating solutions for methane emissions in food and waste systems, and open February 23rd, 2026 for applications! This session will cover the prize’s origin, how to apply, and provide a live Q&A.

Agenda:

  • Prize Introduction (20 min): Learn why methane mitigation matters, the prize’s mission, and its potential impact. Key speakers will highlight the prize categories: Mitigation, Social & Cultural Pathways, Finance, and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification).

  • Application Process (20 min): Step-by-step guidance on how to apply, using the resources on our website (FAQs, Eligibility). Applications open Feb 23 and close Apr 17 (Cap: 500 eligible applications). Finalists and winners will be announced in July 2026 and winners in September at New York Climate Week.

  • Q&A Session (20 min): Our team will answer live questions from the chat.

Prize Highlights:

  • 16 finalists, 8 winners — each winner receives $25,000

  • Support includes entry into the Climate Impact Conduit, connecting applicants with investors, donors, and corporations

  • Focused on rapid, measurable methane mitigation in food and waste systems

Why It Matters:
Methane is over 80 times more potent than CO₂ and responsible for nearly half of global temperature rise since the Industrial Revolution. Mitigating methane emissions is one of the fastest, most cost-effective ways to slow climate change while creating new jobs and unlocking economic and societal value.
