MODERN BIRDING
Join Future Earth & McGolrick Bird Club for Modern Birding—a Climate Week outing in Prospect Park.
Each September, billions of birds follow unseen currents south, stitching continents together with flight. To notice them is to glimpse Earth’s operating system: migration as knowledge, resilience, ancient design.
New to birding? You’ll learn species you’ve never noticed before. Guaranteed.
✷ 9am–11 · free · spare binoculars available · all welcome · rain or shine · bagels to follow ✷
Meet at the James S.T. Stranahan Monument (off Grand Army Plaza) at 9am. From there we’ll trace a slow path west, ending near the 15 St-Prospect Park G stop.
This is access to tools for seeing. Binoculars, open eyes, attention. Together we’ll remember Brooklyn as one node in a planetary web—and ourselves as participants in a shared Earth.
