Collective Refuturing Workshop
Join us to collectively reimagine what our future could look like! Come for an afternoon of building connections, possibilities, and unlocking your creative potential for the future of our climate and beyond.
The climate crisis is intersecting with multiple other crises that appear to be unraveling our world. In the cascading fall out, it can be difficult to imagine the future. Many of us are feeling this de-futuring phenomenon acutely, but we don’t have to settle for that. Together, let’s reclaim our imagination and our future.
The purpose of this workshop is to come together for 2 hours to find connections, rejuvenation, and new ideas by sharing stories about what we want for our future. Because the climate crisis intersects with social, equity, economic, and health crises, we need solutions that deliver co-benefits across domains. Therefore, this event is open to anyone.
We will begin with time for open networking and connecting, and then we’ll dive into an imagination warmup and a future visioning exercise. Next we’ll invite people to partner in small groups to discuss the ways that each of us can start building the future we envision.
In this fertile, interdisciplinary, imaginative, and relational space, project ideas may arise, partnerships can form, or connections may lead to new jobs. This is not just networking; it’s re-empowering our sense of possibility.
Part of the inspiration for this event came from the recent work of Rob Hopkins and his discussion of his new book, How to Fall in Love with the Future: A Time Traveller’s Guide to Changing the World.
