From Idea to Impact: A Design Workshop & Fireside Chat by Atomic Object & World Business Chicago
An evening with your peers, presented by Atomic Object and World Business Chicago.
Curious how other product and innovation leaders turn ideas into impact?
Join us on December 2nd for an evening of conversation, creativity, and connection.
We’ll start with networking and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a hands-on workshop introducing Design Thinking—a framework Atomic Object uses to bring clarity to complex ideas and turn insights into tangible products.
You’ll move through a series of stations that make the framework approachable and practical: exploring a product’s purpose, understanding its user, imagining its future impact, and more. Each station is light, interactive, and staffed by the Atomic team to guide discussion and spark ideas. No experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to think differently.
Then, stay for a fireside chat with one of Atomic’s clients as they share how design thinking shaped their real-world product journey.
4:30 - 5:30 PM: Drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and networking
5:30 - 6:30 PM: Design Thinking Workshop
6:30 - 7:00 PM: Fireside chat with local Chicago founder Tommy Flaim
7:00 - 7:30 PM: Networking
Tommy Flaim is the founder of Silly Pickles, a venture he created to bring people together through social pickleball leagues. In less than two years, Silly Pickles has scaled from concept to a multi-million-dollar run rate, now operating in over 30 states, by focusing on community, fun, and authentic connection.
For the past year, Tommy has partnered with Atomic Object to bring his vision to life. Atomic applied design thinking to guide the process from concept to product, mapping the platform’s purpose, defining user needs, and refining the experience to make it both meaningful and fun.
Before launching Silly Pickles, Tommy founded Fox & Robin, an ethical activewear brand and Certified B Corp known for its transparency in factory wages and commitment to responsible production. His early career in finance at Citi, Jet.com, and Viacom built the strategic foundation that fuels his entrepreneurial work today.
Tommy blends business insight with creativity and purpose, building ventures that connect people and challenge convention while proving that doing good and having fun can go hand in hand.
