About Event

Target Audience:
This session is best suited for students, early-career professionals, and anyone looking to transition into the climate and sustainability space. It’s especially valuable for those who are trying to break into the field but aren’t sure how to position their experience or how to actually get in front of the right people.

What Participants Can Expect:
This will be a practical, no-fluff session focused on how to stand out in a competitive job market—especially in mission-driven fields like climate and sustainability.

We’ll cover three core areas, with a strong emphasis on networking as the primary driver of opportunities:

  • How to position your experience (resume and LinkedIn) so it connects to climate/sustainability roles, even if your background isn’t directly in the field

  • How to prepare for interviews by clearly communicating your value and aligning your story to what organizations care about

  • How to network effectively—not as “asking for a job,” but as building real conversations that lead to opportunities

We’ll spend time reframing networking as a critical skill, not an optional one. In today’s market, applying online is often the longest path to getting hired. The goal is to help participants understand how to get invited into opportunities through conversations, not just compete in crowded applicant pools.

I’ll also walk through simple, practical ways to reach out to people in the climate space, how to follow up, and how to stay consistent even when responses aren’t immediate.

My goal is for participants to leave with a clear, repeatable approach to networking that they can start using right away.

What to Bring:
No preparation is required. That said, if participants have a resume or LinkedIn profile in mind, it can be helpful context during the session. More importantly, they should come ready to think about who they want to connect with and how they want to show up in conversations.

Tickets are free, first-come, first-served for seats. We have opened a waitlist to attend.
