Artist Talk: Time is a Flat Circle

​Join us on Thursday, July 16, from 6:30–8 PM for an artist talk with Erick Antonio Benitez, Ricardo Cabret, and Umber Majeed in conversation with co-curators Valerie Oakley (bitforms gallery) and Vera Petukhova, founder of Rip Space, a Los Angeles-based curatorial platform dedicated to future-oriented creative practice and emergent art forms.

​The conversation will be framed by Rip Space’s emphasis on process, experimentation, and evolving modes of artistic production. Together, the artists will discuss how digital images, memes, and networked media carry cultural memory, shaping how mythologies circulate across generations and geographies. They will also discuss how experiences of migration, identity, and cultural exchange continue to produce new forms of collective memory.
