Steve Jang, is the Founder & Managing Partner of Kindred Ventures, an early-stage venture firm focused on AI and frontier technologies with over $900M in assets under management. He was recently named to the Forbes Midas List 2026 as one of the world’s top venture capital investors. Steve was previously recognized on the Forbes Midas List in both 2023 and 2024 for his early investments and long-standing track record backing category-defining technology companies. Steve was an early investor in companies including Uber, Coinbase, Perplexity, and Fal, and has been leading recent investments across the AI ecosystem, spanning infrastructure, applications, robotics, and compute, including companies such as Fundamental, Creatify, Rebellions, Nuro, Aalo Atomics, and Mecka.
Before founding Kindred Ventures, Steve co-founded several consumer technology startups, including Bitski (acquired by Phantom), and SoundTracking (acquired by Rhapsody). Earlier, he co-created imeem, the pioneering first on-demand music streaming service, which reached over 100 million users before its acquisition by MySpace.
Steve earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from UC Berkeley and University of Southern California. For the past three decades, he has produced music, video, and documentary films for major recording artists and also featured at Sundance Film Festival, AppleTV, and Netflix.
