About Event

Join us for a focused, founder-friendly session on the tax considerations every early-stage organization  should understand.

We’ll meet for about one hour, starting with a concise 10-15 minute presentation that covers the most common tax questions we hear from founders. From there,, we will open the floor for a live 40-minute Q&A, giving you the opportunity to ask your questions directly and get real-time answers from our experts.

You will hear from:

David Horning, Chief Operating Officer and Head of SaaS at Escalon
David oversees Escalon’s accounting, finance, tax, and HR service delivery. He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services and over a decade supporting venture-backed startups as a fractional CFO. David holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, as well as M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Washington. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Hugh Alexander, Head of Tax and Compliance at Escalon
Hugh is a licensed attorney and seasoned tax executive with 27 years of experience advising technology-focused SMBs. Before Escalon, he served as a Tax Partner at KPMG and as the Tax Risk Management Partner for the firm’s Pacific Southwest and Northern Pacific regions. Hugh holds a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin. He is an active member of the Tax Sections for the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of Arizona.
