What to Give AI — and What to Never Take Away from Humans
Welcome to part 6 of our Make AI your HR Superpower series! Hosted by Big Bear Partners, your AI augmented workplace experts.
What is the most meaningful work we should entrust to AI—and what must always remain human?
As artificial intelligence becomes embedded in every corner of the workplace, leaders face a critical challenge: deciding not just where to deploy AI, but how to deploy it responsibly, strategically, and in a way that strengthens—rather than replaces—human judgment.
In this thought-provoking webinar, HR and business leaders will explore how to strike the right balance between human insight and machine intelligence. You’ll be introduced to a practical decision framework—the CARE criteria—for determining what should be handled by AI and what must remain human:
Consistency – Does the task require the same approach every time? If so, AI excels. Tasks requiring nuanced context and interpretation are better kept human.
Accountability – Can the decision be explained, defended, and owned? AI can inform and recommend, but humans must retain final responsibility for high-stakes outcomes.
Repetition – Is the task performed frequently and at scale? High-volume, routine work is ideal for AI; complex, strategic work is not.
Empathy – Does the task require emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, or sensitivity? These moments must remain human-led.
We’ll also explore how to design a “human-in-command, AI-in-support” operating model—where AI performs the heavy lifting on data processing and pattern recognition, providing transparent recommendations, while humans apply contextual knowledge and make the final call.
Through real-world examples across compensation, skills analysis, performance management, and workforce planning, you’ll learn how to move from experimentation to progressive automation—starting with AI as an information provider, evolving to recommendations, and only fully automating the most routine, low-risk tasks once accuracy and trust are established.
If you’re looking to build an AI strategy that is ethical, explainable, and human-centered—this session is for you.
